STAY

  • Check in time is 3pm and check out time is 10am. We'll give you a call on the morning of check in to help with any directions and let you know if your room will be ready beforehand.

  • Yes, we've got plenty of space, free on site parking is always included.

  • All rooms come with luxury linens and towels, Bramley toiletries, a Nespresso machine, kettle, tea and coffee pods. If you'd like your room cleaned or fresh towels, just let us know and we'll arrange whilst you're exploring.

  • Yes you can, it's £10 per night per dog. Some rooms are more dog friendly than others so it's always worth getting in touch to check which room would suit you and your hound best, we're here to help.

  • We have 3 room types and a Shepherd's Hut. Luxury hotel rooms with ensuite bathrooms and balconies (Gate 1, 2 & 3), Luxury Studios with ensuite shower rooms and an outside bath on the balcony (Upper Deck & The Loft), Family Studios that sleep 4 (Lower Deck & The Lodge) and the Shepherd's Hut which sleeps 2, with a raised terrace and a private outside bath for star gazing.

  • Yes, we can accommodate 24 guests to stay and can host any form of event. The large venue space is great for parties or when the weather's warm, our stretch tent overlooking the hills is a beautiful space.

EAT / DRINK

  • Not yet, we've got big plans for the future and will keep this page updated with our progress.

  • Breakfast is not included with room bookings however for £9 per person per night, continental breakfast is available to pre-book. If you would like a bite to eat before exploring begins, add breakfast at point of booking or via the check in email you'll recieve 2 days before arrival.

  • Yes there is, we've got a lovely bar in the building, stocking all the favourites and some lovely Cornish tipple.

OPENING TIMES

  • The main building, all rooms and studios are open from April to October. From November to March our self-catered studios and Shepherd's Hut are open.

  • Yes, from April to October the bar is open to all.

  • Yes you can! We can accommodate weddings of up to 120 guests - we're fully licensed to hold weddings and civil ceremonies inside and in the gardens. If you'd like to know more, give us a call or message and we're here to help.

  • We are a very relaxed bunch with a keen set of priorities, first and foremost is your happiness and to ensure you enjoy every moment whilst you're with us. After you, our core values which we underpin everything on are quality, simplicity and attention to detail.

  • We make a conscious effort to consider the environment at The Gate and find lots of small actions add up to a big reduction in impact. Some of these include, using refillable toiletries to reduce plastic waste, recycling as much of our waste as possible, using non-toxic cleaning products with a low impact on the environment and linen washing products that are biodegradable. The nature of hospitality means we're not perfect, but we're always striving to improve and reduce our combined impact... an ongoing mission.
