Eden Project
The Eden Project, is 35 minutes drive from The Gate so well worth a visit. Nestled in a huge crater you will discover massive Biomes housing the largest rainforest in captivity, stunning plants, exhibitions and stories serve as a backdrop to our striking contemporary gardens, summer concerts and exciting year-round family events.
Lost Gardens of Heligan
Heligan is one of the most mysterious estates in England. Lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1, this Sleeping Beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and garden romantic. Drive time from The Gate - 45 minutes.
Adrenalin Quarry
If it’s adventure your looking for head over to the Adrenalin Quarry a stunning beauty spot near Menheniot. Choose from zip wires, a giant clifftop swing, axe throwing, bouncing off a massive inflatable playground, coasteering in the lake or super fast and furious Go Karts. The perfect place come rain or shine and only 18 minute drive from The Gate.
LANHYDROCK HOUSE
Lanhydrock is a flagship National Trust property and a true delight to explore. Refurbished in high-Victorian style after a devastating fire in 1881, the house and grounds are one of the finest examples of English country house design. Only 25 minutes drive from The Gate, the estate offers a lot to do and see.
WHITSAND BAY
Three miles of stunning golden sand greets you as you walk down to Whitsand Bay. Considered one of Cornwall’s hidden gems, at low tide the long stretch of glistening sand provides great walking, whilst the consistent swell keeps surfers coming year-round. Check out the Cliff Top Café and our favourite spot for a morning coffee, Zinn’s Coffee served from the back of a VW Camper!
TALLAND BAY
Talland Bay is only 5 mins drive from The Gate and is a must visit. The beautiful walks along the coast path, the great coffee at the beach Café and the clear water perfect for sea swimming make Talland one of the best gems on the Cornish Coast. You can also walk down along the back lanes to the beach in only 25 mins.
